This seemed like an easy way to mount the camera on anything in order to get closeup pictures of my wife and I while on vacation. I'm just glad I opened it up before going on the trip. The legs are very awkward to move and unstable. The connection where the camera mounts to the tripod is unstable. I wouldn't trust this tripod if I had a disposable camera, much less a brand new point and shoot. This was purchased for my son’s Zune as he did not have a means to charge his Zune directly from the AC outlet. Although it does charge the zune as advertised, it’s construction is questionable at best.

The metal strips (tangs) that plug into the wall socket have no strain relief on the interior of the white housing. After a couple of insertion/removal cycles into the AC outlets, one of the tangs pulled out of the housing rendering the device unusable. Upon inspection of the interior, it was observed that the rear of the tang was cold soldered to the wire that connected to the PCB. While I may be able to grind the surface of the tang to obtain a suitable surface on which I may re-solder the wire, I may just chose to wire a replacement AC cord directly to the PCB, preventing a repeat failure.

Het aankomende Windows 8 op ARM-processors stamt dus van vóór de eerste iPad. Apple heeft die tablet pas eind januari 2010 onthuld. De vroege ontwikkeling van Windows' ARM-variant blijkt uit de metadata die is opgeslagen in twee foto's die Windows-topman Steven Sinofsky publiceert bij zijn nieuwste blogpost over de ontwikkeling van Windows 8.

Prototype geshowd

De hoogste baas voor Windows geeft in een lange tekst uitleg over de aanpassingen aan het pc-besturingssysteem voor de ARM-chiparchitectuur. Daarbij showt hij twee foto's van een prototype Windows-smartphone waar de volledige Windows-desktop op draait. Techblog Istartedsomething heeft de exif-data van de digitale foto's doorgenomen en ontdekte dat de foto's op 22 januari 2010 zijn genomen. Webwereld ziet in de exif-data dat de foto's zijn bewerkt met pc-programma Windows Live Photo Gallery en genomen met een Samsung GT-B7330 smartphone. Dat Omnia-toestel draait Windows Mobile 6.5. In een van twee Microsoft-foto's is op het telefoonscherm 'Windows 7' te zien met een build-nummer in de 7000-reeks. De Windows Phone-hardware heeft dus als besturingssysteem de ARM-variant van het pc-besturingssysteem dat normaliter op x86-processors draait. Het bestaan van deze ARM-variant is pas in januari 2011 onthuld.
